Uk Core Skills Training Framework Agreement
The UK Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) is a set of recommendations covering key legal and mandatory issues for many roles in the health sector. It outlines the key learning achievements, which should include each training, how often it should take place (including upgrade times) and the best approach to implementing this training. The CSTF is not really a regulatory requirement – but it is a common framework to guide health organizations in the design and planning of training activities. The aim is to ensure that they are standardised in the UK and that they focus on the common needs of all roles. These are minimum standards and many health organizations may have their own more detailed standards. In 2019-20, Skills for Health was tasked with conducting evaluations of several frameworks to better understand how they are used and what their effects are. Click on the links below to download the evaluation reports: many organizations have already explained their alignment with the legal/compulsory CSTF. The exchange of this information allows employers` organisations to determine where the training provided in other organisations complies with the legal/compulsory CSTF and thus helps to avoid unnecessary dual training when staff change roles and organisations. The framework was commissioned and funded by the Ministry of Health and developed in collaboration with Skills for Health and Health Education England (HEE) in collaboration with Skills for Care. The development of the framework was led by a group of experts who were part of a wide range of health and social services organizations, royal colleges and training providers. The CSTF was originally launched in 2013 and is based on national guidelines and legislation. It has been developed in collaboration with industry experts and professional organizations such as the Resuscitation Council, the Infection Prevention Society and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Skills for Health continues to manage and update the framework, and the current v1.5 version was released in October 2018.
The framework defines the basic skills and knowledge that would be transferable and applicable to different types of services. It contains expected learning outcomes for the implementation of training, important political and legal references and is in line with corresponding national professional standards. The aim is to ensure the quality and consistency of dementia training and to avoid unnecessary duplication. The framework describes basic skills and knowledge, that is, what is commonly used and transferable to different types of services. The framework covers the following topics: in the case of highly mobile staff, employers are often required to determine the training of recruits. In the absence of information, people can unnecessarily increase their education and waste time and money. The steering group included stakeholders from different organisations to take stock of the development of quality national e-learning for the central legal and compulsory training programme.
